When we moved into our new home, we decided to put each of the twins in their own room. Even though I loved having them share their “Gender Neutral Nursery” in our previous home, I knew that they would eventually need to have their own room. Annnnnnd, let’s be honest….seperating them sooner than later IS a great excuse to design 2 new nurseries!
hen we had the twins, 18 months ago, we quickly out grew our first home, which was in a charming little neighborhood near downtown Dallas, surrounded by trendy restaurants and bars within walking distance. While we were in no hurry to move, we realized that we would eventually need more room AND a better school district, so we started “looking” at other houses.
We are so excited to reveal this project to you all today! This 1920′s Tudor home is nestled in a quiet little pocket of the ever-popular Lakewood neighborhood in Dallas. It has 3 bedrooms, 2 baths, a dining, study and kitchen. It embodies the original hardwoods throughout, as well as original doors and gorgeous stained glass windows.
The Pearsons – the most adorable family of 4 – just moved to Dallas from out of state. They were ready for their new house to feel like a home and their first priority was the living room, which is the first room you see when you enter the home. They wanted ample seating, comfort, style and durabililty. It was essential to them for us to incorporate our signature style of light, bright fabrics and to accessorize with pieces that make the space feel sophisticated.
Well, I have officially been called out on my lack of posts lately (thanks, Julia – I’ll try to post more, I swear)! The truth is, we – are – slammed. If August doesn’t end up being the death of me, I’m not sure what will…but more on that next week. The great news is that we have several installs coming up, so we will have a lot to share!
When I started this business almost 3 years ago, I had no intention of having a “team” of designers. It’s not that I didn’t want a team, I just didn’t think I’d ever have a need for one. But at the end of 2012, it became evident that bringing aboard a second Design Consultant was the next natural step in this business venture. The fact is, I was finding myself either over committing to clients or turning them away…I felt like I was in a lose, lose situation.
Over the past year and a half I have mentioned this client’s “forever home” project a handful of times… As previously mentioned, this home is a new construction and was completed about 3 months ago.
I‘m so excited to finally reveal the remodel that I posted about last week! A great big thank you to the home owner, Jamie, for giving me free reign on this design, and to her husband, Shawn, for saying to her, “It’s whatever you want, babe…” during our initial consultation! (I swear he totally said that…and when he did, it was like the skies parted and the angels started singing…….ahhhhhhh!!!)
Happy Monday! I have a fun, tiny little sneak peek of a kitchen project for you today. I seriously have no idea why I haven’t mentioned this project until now, because it-is-MAJOR!
When I posted little Miss K’s “big girl” room reveal last month, I mentioned that she had a baby brother on the way and that I had the honor of designing his nursery. I’m happy to say that baby Dex has arrived and has settled quite nicely into his new room, and today I am excited to show it to you! Oh, and did I mention we only had about 6 weeks to pull the room together?!
