Client Project Reveal: A Big Boy Bedroom

Reid 2

Whew! Things were mega busy around the Pearson home this summer! We recently revealed their Living Room Design as well as their daughter’s Big Girl Room Design, and today we are excited to reveal their son, Reid’s room!

We started with a fairly blank slate… the only thing we opted to keep were his two awesome antique twin beds. They were passed down through the family, so not only did they hold sentimental value, but we knew they would come in handy for any upcoming over night guests, etc.

We wanted to give Reid a classic design that he could grow into without having the room feel too sophisticated or stuffy.

Here is Reid’s newly designed bedroom…

We added a crisp white paint to the walls along with a 36″ bead board for added texture. We opted for a bold navy ceiling and topped it off with an industrial iron and rope light fixture.

Could you not just die for that navy and white campaign chest?! It is by far our favorite piece in this room!

How fun is the collegiate style font on those pillows?!

And he was beyond thrilled to have a desk in his room! Recognize the old school map from your elementary days?

A boy can never have too much storage for his toys!

Thanks again to the Pearson’s for allowing us to take on this project! We hope that Reid continues to enjoy his room for many years to come!

Another home run!! I love this room and love, love that lamp!! I just love that the fullness of that lamp picks up on the fullness of the bed posts. Such a great boy’s room that can grow as he does!!

  • Great room that combines plenty of young boy “stuff” in an organized manner. Their future wives will appreciate the effort their mom made on teaching them to put stuff away. Love those old-fashioned beds, too.

You are by far, my very favorite designer. I look at each and every room and think “that is exactly what I would do!”
You style is so sophisticated, yet livable.
The elegance and simplicity combine for some of the most terrific rooms I have seen.
My husband has a restaurant here in Princeton, but for that, I would move just to get you to do our home!!

    • Hi Shelly!
Due to the nature of our client contracts, we are unable to share sources. We are happy to put together an Online Design Board for your space if you’d like…that way we could include several sources for you. Please let us know if you are interested!

I have been wanting to paint my son’s ceiling navy and leave the walls almost white. Everyone is telling me not to do it because it will make the room feel like a “cave” (not exactly sure how that would work since the ceiling is vaulted to 14 feet) but this just shows how very beautiful it can be! I think this just may give me the courage to pull the trigger!
